Prepay cell phones are CHEAP

Greetings!
I know most of you already have cell phones and contracts and maybe that
is the best deal for you but......
We use our cell phone sporadically. We use it when we're camping.
We carry it when we're motorcycle riding.
We found it invaluable recently when my mother in law became ill and spent a week in the hospital.
But ordinarily, we can go at least a few days between uses.
We generally carry it when we're out shopping but it often
does not ring.

OK, if you just need basic mobile phone and aren't a chatty kathy or a total
texting fiend- a pre paid cell phone might just be the ticket.

I just got a cell phone from tracfone.com that included 140 minutes of
talk time, an accessory kit that includes car charger and a pretty good
belt pouch as well as ear phone and house charger and free 3 day fedX
shipping and 5 months to use the minutes all for a measly $18.01 including tax.

That's right. I got a phone and all the goodies and 5 months and 140
minutes. They also only charge 1/3 minute per text message so you can text
a reasonable amount for chump change.
Minutes typically can run as low as 10¢ each once you finally need to top up.

So basically I got a phone and talk time and 5 months for less than 20 bucks
and I can toss it in the trash and walk away anytime I want. No contract.

It might not be for you or it might be just what you need.
If you are interested you can visit tracfone.com and look the phones
and special sales over.
When you get ready to buy I have 2 promo codes.
One gets you $3 off and the other gets you a free accessory kit.
Some phones include the free kit and some do not.
Here's a copy paste from the Yahoo tracfone user group on how
to use the promo codes.

"To get the free kit, click here to get to TracFone’s site
<http://www.kqzyfj.com/click-2908593-9323535?sid=October+Promotional+Codes>.
Add your preferred phone to your cart, then use code 88160 when you
check out to get the free accessory kit added to your order. DO NOT add
the $14.99 kit to your cart on your own. You can also use code 23444 for
a $3 discount in conjunction with the free accessory kit code – just
enter one code in the discount box, click submit, then enter the next
code, click submit again, then proceed with your checkout."

We recently dumped our old ATT/cingular Go phone. We were only
getting 1 or 2 bars while standing in front of a window.
My new tracfone gets 5 bars in my basement.
Tracfone piggy backs on ATT and Verizon network so they generally
work anywhere you can reasonably expect a cell signal.
And the fact that I just got a new phone and minutes and 5 months
for LESS than a single 3 month top of on my old Go phone doesn't hurt
either.
What was your cell phone bill this month???

Happy stocking stuffing!

Also if you watch what phone you buy, some come with double minutes for life........

The Tracphones would never work for me, as I use a ton of minutes and data, but it works great for our teenage son. If he uses up his minutes, HE pays for more!

AND a big plus for kids-- if they loose the phone it's not
a big deal! There is no contract that needs to be
paid off.
You or they can simply buy a new phone for $20 and
move on! If you registered it at the tracfone.com
web site you can call and even get the old phone number
transferred to the new phone.

December Consumer Reports magazine recommends
pre paid cells for folks who don't need a lot of whistles
and bells and don't use a ton of minutes per month and
don't want a contract.
