Puzzle me this

Ok, so I was just out driving today and for part of my drive I was following behind a late 90's, maybe early 2k Ford Ranger.... with a 5th wheel hitch.

Now what kind of 5th wheel is going to be Ranger towable?

Believe it or not, Scamp trailers are.

Go to their webpage and you'll see a Ranger hooked to one on their rotating pics on their homepage.

Ok, now I know.

Those Scamps are tiny. I doubt I'd even be able to stand up in one. But I can see the appeal to some people.

Yeah, but I betcha that El Camino had a higher tow rating then an early 2k model ranger.

El Caminos were awesome. Not a lot of people room but they hold a few kegs!

I doubt that very much on a 2.72 rear end, coil springs and air shocks.

I wasn't talking about tow capacity, I was talking about tow rating. As far as I knew they were more lax about them in '81 then they were in '00. I can't find any reliable info online, but I've seen claims of anywhere between 3500-6000 tow rating for the 5th Gen El Caminos, and ratings in the 1500-3500 range for a '00 Ford.

Of course, anyone who knows the real ratings, feel free to correct me.
