Yeah, but their restaurants were Cracker Barrel, Appleees and Denny's.
That made me sad.

I've eaten in at least 20 different cracker barrels across the country. Never a bad experience.

I really must be the oddity (somehow that's not surprising )- my with enjoys it and daughter loves it. We even have friends who drive quite a ways to go to them. And I find I can generally barely stomach the place.

Cracker Barrel will always hold a top spot with RV'er as long as they keep offering RV parking.
When is the last time you could pull an RV into and park at many other places to eat without a problem in finding a place for the RV to fit?

Doug, it may just be your taste buds are burned out from eating things like this:

Breakfast= eggs in a basket with Applewood bacon.
Lunch= BLT with steak fries.
Dinner= pot roast or meat loaf with dumplings, Cole slaw and fried apples.
Try these ependydad.

We have a very difficult time driving past a Cracker Barrel and not stopping. The DW loves them and we all know if momma ain't happy nobody's happy.
I have used the "hey , look over there" trick when I see one of their billboards coming up. It's worked a few times.

Would ya hush! I'm going to have to eat at Cracker Barrel now after reading all this.
I will fill up on their biscuits and white gravy. I also like their turkey sausage and hashbrown casserole.

Dave, I was trying to get over there to your town this evening, to see the lights but it doesn't look like it's gonna pan out. I guess my consolation trip is to Cracker Barrel.
I'm glad this is the off-topic forum..................cause we really took it off from garbonz's OP.

As long as you have an extra 1 hr 30 min or aso to waste on several thousand calorie meal, not for me. Better food in my rig and healthier as well. Fresher, better cooked. You are correct if it sounds like I do not like the place - the same for the top three from Trailer Life. Poor excuses for top restaurants.

It's kind of strange, we have a Cracker Barrel a couple of miles from the house and haven't been there in years. Yet when we drove up to Elkhart, IN from Dallas to look at an RV a couple weeks ago we stopped an ate dinner at Cracker Barrel in Elkhard.
Maybe RV's just make Cracker Barrel taste better.

Now that is funny, & I couldn't agree with you more. We always get the best food, service etc. at a local restaurant. Definitely not a franchise.
As for the TT ranking it is nice to know we are #2 but I think considering the price, we are #1. If price was not an issue then an Airstream would have to be on top or maybe just an ocean front hotel.

Any restaurant that has billboards all over the country raving about their dumplings and then serves flat noodles is from somewhere I haven't been to yet.

Cracker Barrel - these guys really got a gimmick. You walk in and there's a wait,so what do you do? You start wandering though the gift shop (I guess that's what it's called) and there's always something the DW has just got have and/or you start looking at all the old brands of candies and sodas and you buy some.
I must admit that their merchandise is good quality, but a bit expensive.
As far as their food, IMO it's OK for what it is,but I prefer eating at IHOP if that's the kind of food we are seeking at the time.
