Brookshire's here lets ya grind yer own. That smell is heavenly ain't it? 
Our Brookshire's also has a full time sushi chef, he's there all day making it fresh, or will make what you want while you wait. He makes an awesome octopus salad too!
OK, dang it all this food talk...I gotta go to the grocery store...taste buds screaming! I'm making chicken cacciatore Cajun style for dinner tonight by golly.

The aroma is great and I don't even drink coffee 
We got Brookshires here - they're mostly in the smaller surrounding towns. It's been said the DFW Metroplex is one of the most competitive supermarket markets around.
We got the Wal Mart SuperCenters and Neighborhood Markets, Tom Thumbs, Aldis, some Albertsons and the 800 pound gorilla Kroger.
Kroger has just announced a big expansion here with a new type store that sells furniture, has a Starbucks,etc in addition to groceries.

I'll tell ya a coffee smell that's heavenly, coffee beans being roasted. If coffee tasted like the smell during roasting no one would ever drink tea.

I'm sure about all of us reading this have been in one...........but may not recognize the long name, and never knew that A&P stood for that. |
Had a&p in Natchitoches for a long time but its been gone now for 20+ years.

I can't believe I forgot TWA and Pan Am. Plus there are plenty of small regionals that are gone including Air Cal, Reno,PSA and others.

The best seafood I've ever eaten was in Nova Scotia and I love seafood!! The RL here at home is OK. When you are thousands of miles from either coast you have to be satisfied with what you get. The biscuits are great, and the wife can make the same biscuits at home, just as good!!

I can still remember eating at Sambo's (gone) and Bonanza (a few left).
A friend and I happened to be staying in Pine Bluff Arkansas a few years back and checked our Garmin for close by restaurants and a Bonanza showed up. We didn't know any were still open as they all shut down in LA many years ago. Imagine our surprise when we drove to it just to make sure and there it was. We were like kids in a candy store. The manager told us there were around 50 still open.
As long as we are taking a trip down nostalgia lane......I still miss Burger Chef.

Burger chef. Yes. Dress your own burger. We had one in Natchitoches in the 70s. That's why I like fudruckers. Put all the tomatoes you want on your burger.

First date I went on was to Burger Chef. Nuttin but a bun, ketchup, mustard, pickles and rehydrated onions...
