Good. I was the first one to book Oconee State Park and now it's sold out.

You may be a little late in finding any place to camp in Oregon. Campgrounds and RV parks are full. Not saying you can't find anything but the way it looks you won't. Farmers are finding a new source of income for this event, I've read some are asking $300 for one night to boondock in their pasture. I also would imagine hotels and motels are booked solid. This is a big deal for many people, kind of like waiting for the year 2000 to happen. I've seen at least one full eclipse and several partials so if I miss this one I will live on, but I have a campsite at a state park in SC and just hope it won't be a cloudy day.

Oconee State Park? That's where we will be. I had plans for alternative sites to leave for on Eclipse Morning if it looked like it was going to be cloudy there. But after reading about expectations for that day; I decided no, I really shouldn't head out into that craziness. Win or lose, we'll be sitting right on the line of totality.

Ill be down in Kentucky Dam Village. I will watching the weather carefully as the day approaches and I will drive to the nearest clear spot in the totality path. Ill pull off on the shoulder of the highway if I have to. I WILL NOT miss this.

I'll be at a Casey's parking lot in the middle of Nebraska eating a fresh donut. No camper. Totality is only 4 hours from where I live so we will just drive down there in the morning in the car. This way if there is weather we might be able to adjust our plans that morning to find sunny spots. That is the one nice thing about it happening at Noon... plenty of travel time either way of the event.

Yeah but millions of people are thinking that same thing. I got a kick out of the website that said it's going to be the Zombie Apocalypse.

With only 7 days to go, the forecast is for sunny skies down in KY. I hope people have a plan B incase of cloudy skies especially those traveling for this.

From a weather nerd : Don't put much faith, if any, in long range weather forecasts. Unless there is a really big system coming in. Forecasts get very accurate about 24 hours ahead.
We're still making our way down to Oconee State Park SC. Right on the line. Leaving WV and stopping in Bristol VA today. There is no Plan B except for jockying for position with thousands of other people. I don't think I can handle that. As my sister said "If it's cloudy, start singing with Sinatra 'That's Life'".

Safely ensconced at Oconee SP SC for the eclipse. There are already signs up all through the area warning of eclipse traffic congestion. The Park Rangers here told me that they are letting so many cars in then they will lock the gates. So obviously there are going to be people driving up this steep mountain road who will find themselves with no place to go. Anyone who decides on Eclipse Day to go find a spot or decides to change their spot due to weather, well God be with you. This is a public service announcement. Welcome to the Eclipse Apocalypse.
