Retired Folks Why don't you go South for the winter?

Was wondering why retired folks don't go south for the winter.

$$$$$$$ is probably reason #1

Not every retired person has lots of it 😄

Well OC, that's sorta our plan within the next 5 or so years. I have to keep a home base in CT due to my clients up here but I'm looking toward Dixie for a perch all winter long (6 months and a day) and snow-bird it.

OC, if you come down around the Gulf coast in Jan, you can't get a parking spot. License plates from every state and every province

The only retired person I know that won't go south in the winter is addicted to snowmobiling.

Bill

Our winters are fairly mild in NW Washington, rarely going below 25F overnight or staying below freezing during the day. We're quite comfortable with that. Of course, the 4 months of "1000 broken, 1800 overcast 3/4 mile vis., rain & fog", as our local airport weather report often describes it, can get a bit on one's nerves!

What he said^^^^. We have several RV parks(nicer ones) in our area(Pcola, Florida), and as the temps drop up north, the spaces fill around here. This time of year, they'll be packed out at night, and alot of regulars who will stay a month or so.

What did you do in January of 2014 when the night temp dropped to 28 degrees. I was there when they closed Pensacola NAS base for 2 days. I bet you didn't wear sweats then. Same temp in Jacksonville..... BEEP, BEEP

We don't go South for the Winter because we already live in the Southwest and that's close enought for us.
