Yesterday got worse

In addition to getting Mardy's dog killed, the tranny in Frankie's Caddy shot craps. Pulls in R, 1,2,3 and when you put it in 4th(D) it takes off fine, shifts 1-2-3 and when it goes into 4th, it totally disengages from the engine. It is in the shop as of 8:00am this morning. Suspect, altho no estimate, at least a $3-$4,000 bill as it is a fwd and the engine/transmission will have to come out completely. It also cancels out trip to Fredrick, MD to see Frankie's sister. I guess sh-- happens in bunches, so we'll just stay home and hope nothing else happens.

I hope everyone has fun in Goshen. Sure wish we could have made it, but if yesterday is an indicator, it's a good thing we aren't on the highway. Only thing good about yesterday was a clean bill of health from my doctor.

Sorry to here about the Caddy on top of everything else... geeez.

We lived near Fredrick, MD and spent alot of time in the area before we retired to The Ridge in PA. Very nice Area. We lived in the adjoining county of Carroll for about 35 years.

Hang in there Coot. I hope things get much better going forward. Good news on the health for sure.

Hang in there buddy. You are no wimp. It takes more of a man to show his emotions than to hide them inside. Had to break similar news to our son years ago when we were pup sitting for his new lab puppy. Distemper jumped on the pup overnight and we had to make the decision to have it put to sleep. That was a tough call, so I know exactly how you feel my friend. This too shall pass.

Got some good news today from the Cadillac garage. It was a solenoid in the tranny and total bill was only $451.17. So TOWTA's junker is back on the road, well, it's in the garage with the cover back on it, but it's now drivable anyway.

You better cover it up. Wouldn't want you to get in trouble again

BTW, happy to see you and TOWTA back home safe and sound

WOOT! Glad *that* worked out much better than you expected!

Didya take by and get it detailed before ya brought it home? Might get some extra brownie points if ya get it buffed, puffed and fluffed for 'er.

I know what you mean. Bedford is really nice. My wife is from Cumberland so we spent some time there in our younger years.

Didn't need it, they kept it inside and I don't want to spoil the car's reputation. It's never been waxed, but it's only 18 yrs old, so it's not of legal age yet. BTW, it is always covered while in the garage due to some old fart grinding, bead blasting, etc.
