Screen door push bar that unlatches the door

Has anyone seen an rv screen door bar similar to the Camco RV Screen Door Cross Bar 42183 that when pushed it will unlatch the door? Thinking it might be feasible.

Sound like another OldCoot Engineering project to me.

And here I just installed the new Lippert clear screen door mod.

Screen Doors

Towable Screen Door Slider w/Knob PN 239061

It was too tall for my screen door so I used a Plexiglass knife to trim/snap it to the correct height for my door.

This screen door opener isn't what you are asking for, but keep it in mind as an option. We got one and it is actually a big help, especially when you have your hands full. Screen Door Opener - Camco RV 43953 - Screen Doors - Camping World

I bought that and found it was not what I was looking for.
I never installed it. The new Lippert screen door slider is awesome.
Trimming it with a plastic scribe and snapping the plastic was quick and easy.
I rounded the edges with a knife edge.

Our 2012 came with the clear slide door with the knob. I use one of these to deburr alum, steel, pvc and other plastics.

Took a pic of the cross bar I installed after I put on your set of Awning Support Poles (so nice) you sent me.

Took some other pics of how my 2013 screen door opens. Different than my last trailer with a clumsy sliding door. Yours like this? Here're the pics:

Yep that is it. I had to cut about 1 3/4 inches off the top and it fit right in.

Be nice if the new part is same size as old part, BUT... better the new one is too big so you could trim it down Herk. Line up with the old door handle?

It was made for a different model door than I have.

It looked like I could make it work and it only took 10 minutes to remove 4 door screws; mark/cut the new panel; slip it in place; and re-install the 4 screws.

All in all a very quick and painless mod.

The pin lined up perfectly on mine.

Mine is the same except it doesn't have the small pin for the outside. Now, if I can just make the door bar move the big knob on the inside... Cad dwg in preliminary stage... I have to get approx. 7/8" downward travel from pushing the tube 3-5/8" horizontally...and spring load the whole thing.

Herk, what was the size of the panel before you cut it down? Approx 12"x12" maybe? Where did you get it from? I have been looking for one of them but 2 different dealers have told me that they can't order just that part.

This is a genuine question but sounds snotty- what's the point of the cross bar? I've never felt like I was missing something...

I am thinking like a school door "panic bar" opener.

I installed the cross bar on ours to give our 3yo daughter something to grab a hold of to close the door. She got her fingers pinched pretty good last year, got a blood blister out of it, so I figured the cross bar was the best and easiest option.

I've added the crossbar as well. The grand kids love it and it also adds a little stability to the door.
