Shooting Hobby

Hopefully this doesn't become a discussion on politics and stays on the topic of shooting sports. Four years ago after several failed surgeries I gave up skeet and trap shooting. I love to shoot and have a passion for firearms. I started shooting my old Mark ll 22/45 and had so much fun. My collection had grown and as long as I don't shoot to much it's not to hard on my neck. It's also a great way to meet other shooting enthusiast in the RV parks we are in. Last year in FL we had 5-6 guys and girls shooting 1-2 times a week. This is my modest collection. The GP100 was a gift from my wonderful wife for my birthday.

One of my most relaxing and favorite things to do is to get my old Remington single shot .22 rifle, a box of shells (most of the time .22 shorts) and sit back and "ding" my metal targets.

That old single shot gets far more use than any of the rest of my guns....

That's great. Can you find 22 shorts. I have finely found a couple of bricks of 22 lr. I love the sound when you hit a steel plate.

Cool idea. I read about stringing GB on fishing line. What happens when you hit one?

It's not so bad until you get out the big ones. We did stay at a park like that in Homestead FL. I didn't sleep all night.

I find new shooters have way more fun with reactive targets than paper.
The golf balls are just one, clay pigeons are cheap as are used bowling pins for larger bores.
Eggs are another one, just use the golf tees to set them on.

For better shooters Necco Wafers.

If they were this big, they'd be a lot easier for me to hit!

I love that 1911 with the checkered grips. I thought many times about buying a .22 conversion kit to keep the damn costs down. It used to be $28.00 for a Winchester white box of .45, now that's doubled. It's hard to justify tossing .60 down the lane each shot.

I love my Ruger Merk III Hunter, that thing is a tack driver.

Do wish I got to go shooting more often.

Just did my yearly qualifying for work sadly this was my last one as I will be retiring next year. Did my usual 220 out of 250 with 200 being our lowest allowable score. 250 rounds of ammo with a 40 cal my hands are a little sore. I think I will miss going out to do this but will try to replace it by shooting some trap, something I have't been able to do in a long time because I work a lot of hours.

Shooting Hobie

Trap and skeet are so much fun. We used to shoot in all weather all year in Michigan. Nothing better than a cold clear night with snow cover and a temp around 0. The birds break clean and the powder just hangs in the air. Maybe someday I'll get to do it again. Is your qualification a tactical coarse or set distance on a target range.

Here is some of my collection:

My bug out rifle. If I had to chose between an AK and an AR for survival. It will be the AK every time.

A 1911 is another must have.

Here is my weapon of choice to practice in the garage or backyard. Empty shell with just a primer and rubber bullet. Lots of fun.

I know a lot of guys that will spit on a Hi-Point since they are so inexpensive. The funny thing is that it has never given me a FTL or FTE. Now, the Kimber has give me quite a few of those. It is very picky with ammo. I found the Hi-Point so reliable that it was my bedside gun until we decided to get a 12 gauge for safety reasons with the kids.

Nice set up. I'm more of a AR fan although I do like the 7.62 cal better than 5.56. I guess all the time in the Marines working on ARs got me hooked.

I have a new trap gun coming this week. A Mossberg Silver Reserve II. Plus I have done several seasons shooting Pdogs in South Dakota and camping in my RV on a fellers ranch there.
