Six murdered at rural campsite

In Texas. A shocking story to say the least!

That is horrible. I pray for their families and the survivor.

So, from the story, it appears that they were"camping" in a travel trailer on property they bought IOT be closerto the woman's retired parents. Thus, this was not a "Campground"murder as I (and perhaps others) first thought it was.

This is not to downplay this horrendous crime! Mythoughts and prayers go out to the survivor and the loved ones of thosemurdered. I hope they lock the S*B up for life at ADX Canon City CO!

Yes, it certainly looks like they were in their own property (not that anything else would justify a murder...). But they called it a campsite because of the travel trailer. It would not seem to be a campground at all.

This appears to be a state crime of Murder, in the number one state for executions. So pretty sure he won't end up in a Federal Pen, but might end up on a table.

Terrible.... This is another reason that myself and my camping buddy (he's a sheriff deputy and I'm prior Army Ranger) always travel properly armed. All family members are trained in the safety and proper use of the weapons and they are all top notch shots. Most of the states we travel to reciprocate with our Florida CWP and, of course, my buddies badge helps. Lol. Our early warning system (the family dog) helps too.

f5moab. You are right. Texas isn't shy about putting the needle in the arm. In fact we are doing one tonight. Hope this guy gets what is due him.
My prayers are with the families.

Ok guys, let's stay off the execution and gun carrying conversations. Keep it to talk of the actual murder. This thread is on a short leash.

I don't think I could live with out a dog in today's world. 99% of the time I think a simple bark keeps the creepers away, can't beat them for an alarm either. Always need to be prepared for that other 1%. How close was this to the boarder?

Anderson County where this occurred is in East Texas - Palestine is the major city in the county.
