I may need to rent a Bobcat to carve out a path.

As I was headed out, a couple of neighbor kids offers to shovel for money. Feeling like a spring chicken, I declined and went about shoveling. I was more than happy to see them an hour+ later when I was midway through the road by the driveway and still needed to do in front of my truck.

I will say- the one boy's mouth went a whole lot more than his shovel!

We had full sunshine all day today with temps in the 50s. Gotta say it was good for this Leo's soul. All the ICE is gone!

Folks up in the snow, I really feel for you, we lived in that crap for 50 yrs and really enjoyed about 5 years of it when we had snowmobiles. Was lucky to get jobs the last 15 yrs where snow was a very rare event. 1 time in Arkansas and now 3 times in the Charlotte, NC area.(Luckily all 3 times we were in FL when they got it.)

For around here we had a lot of snow, it has been warm and raining for a couple of days now so most of it is gone now.

Reports of lower area flooding have been reported.

I have not seen my grass since oct.2013 as of now, I heard we have a total for the year of 40 inches, and this month is always the the worst for snow and we have 2 week left. 4 hrs north in the U.P where we snowmobile their is over 60 inches on the ground and their totals so far have been in the 120 inch range

To toot my own horn, as they say - I ended up spending 5 hours outside today shoveling last night's extra. The plows re-plowed in our driveway and parking spots (which is fairly unusual here).

I wouldn't have been outside so long, but as I was getting close to wrapping up- my neighbor, a widow, and her 8 year old daughter were just getting started. I went over and helped shovel our their car and sidewalk. Then, before I finished- my other neighbors are a grandmother, daughter and granddaughter living together; I made sure to dig the road gutter out so that the melted snow would run off to the storm drain. They had a good 6" or so of standing water before I got started.

Extra sore now, but it was worth it as I spent some time talking to the widow. She's a mess, poor thing.
