Spray port issues

Every year the spray ports leak when the dewinterize is done. This year same issue and we never use them (2) I was looking to replace them and had found some installation instructions. It mentioned a shutoff valve being in the line. I looked and FR never installed one on my unit. Had anyone had a problem with their ports? Has anyone installed a shutoff valve inline and would recommend a brand and the type of clamps? I was thinking pex but the cost of the crimp tool for two clamps is costly

The ports that you quick connect the coiled blue hose into. They are on the outside of the camper. Like an outside shower

Ok gotcha.
I rarely use my blue coiled hose, but when I do its a pain to connect it!

Yep, we know this is an old thread.

I've tried everything to get this blue coiled hose to couple with the "shower" faucet in the water distribution center of our recently purchased 2014 XLR 415. A tip mentioned was to push a screwdriver into the female to "reduce pressure" and water will squirt out. I've attempted this with pressure, and yesterday after draining and blowing the lines still no joy. I even applied 100lbs (estimated) torque from my arm onto a screwdriver into the fitting...and nothing.

So, this coupling is supposed to connect normally? I'm not using an improper coupling meant for something else?

Perhaps I should jus' disassemble it?

You have to push the knurled fitting back on the faucet connection first and while holding it back, insert the hose fitting. Takes both hands to make the connection.

Unscrew the female connector from the faucet Assy, this will release the pressure and allow you to attach your blue hose after its reinstalled.

There is zero pressure in the system. I know the collar has to be held back to insert the coupling. Tomorrow after I take my nerve pills, blood pressure pills and anti-psychotic meds I will disassemble the bloody thing.

mcnabbwr-There was still pressure on this fitting despite the draining and blowing-out the system. I removed it and sprayed it w/WD40. Works now.

Surprising how much hate a little fitting like that can build up.

I do this quite frequently and was about to mention it earlier, but got sidetracked.

I too had problems and used the wd 40. Part of the problem for me was when the dealer winterized out camper, the ports weren't properly winterized. There is an 3/32 -1/8 diameter pin in there. Water would collect around that on and rust over the winter and be hard to move and then leak come spring once water pressure was applied to the system

I spoke with the original owner about it...they never used it. I'll bet the problem you described was also affecting this one. It was locked-up solid 'till I removed the fitting and filled the female end w/WD40...
