Sad to see that red Camaro, I'm guessing you pulled the LS1 for the 73? Gorgeous car right there.

I have a 98...

Hey Rod,
Yes the '02 was the donor LS & 6 speed. Nice 4th gen! My old boss has 2 of the 3 '95 SS prototypes. My LS was tuned by Vengeance out of Atlanta.

I feel the same way. Did you read the thread about the other guy who got a new F350 Dually one day because his old one needed too much work. I mean thats a $60k truck.

Thats 1/3rd of what my house costs.

Its all relative though. I just go to work everyday and keep saving my pennies. And, some of these guys are making 6 figures a year and their house is already paid off.

My expensive toy, 1969 Camaro SS 396 big block. Sold the Harley this past winter and picked up my new girl. She was built the same month and within a week or two of when I was born (November of 1968), that has always been my dream to have a Camaro same age as me. This originally had my heart set on a 68 Camaro but when I started tracking down serial numbers by month I discovered that in November of 68 they were building 69's. Should've known that!! She runs a lot stronger than I do for being 43 years old.

And...that '69 will always be worth more than a '68.

This car is on my bucket list. Enjoy her. I have a few oldies, some older than I am. I just feel like their caretakers, not their owners. Its my job to maintain their old bones so the next generation can enjoy them just as much. Kind of funny to think that they'll be around longer than me.

As well as a half dozen other cars and trucks. Back before the mortgage crash, you couldn't touch any of those musclecars for under $30k, at least out here. Now they are a lot more affordable. I've looked at a couple under $10k in the last year... They weren't nearly as nice as yours, though.

I keep telling myself just to wait a few more years, pay down this mortgage, put some money in the bank. I DON'T need another car. My shop isn't big enough as it is.

I own a 1965 Mustang with a 200 CI engine, 3 speed non-cyncro low tranny and a 1965 Ranchero, the DH has put in the Ranchero a Toyota motor with a Celica 3 speed transmission. The DH has a 1930 Tudor that he is building, Sorry no pictures at this time.

I got lots of hobbies (harleys, Rock Crawling, Photography, Fine Whiskeys), but my pride and joy is the movie theater I built in my basement...

View of the Snack Bar area. Notice the monitor above the popcorn machine. I figured there was no sense in someone missing part of the move getting a snack...

The seating area. There are 12 theater seats, and 4 bar stools in the area behind the back row.

I have a ancient (2000 model) 62" rear projector recessed in the wall. It's non HD, but I spend a lot of time tweaking it, and it has a phenominal picture. I cant bring myself to get rid of it. Its used for day-to-day use.. When it dies, I already have an insert made to plug the hole it sits in, and I'll put a big LCD or plasma up there.

But... For Movie Nights, I have a motorized 110" drop down screen

with a Epson 8350 HD 1080p projector. For sound I have an Onkyo TX-NR09 powering a BIC Accoustech PL-89 5.1 setup (550 watts)with a PL-200 sub (1000 watts) and a Polk PSW-110 (300 watts) doing duty as a mid-sub. They are not in the pictures, but they are exceptional speakers for the money. Needless to say, this system will turn milk to butter.

Finally, I made a custom wall mounted, touch-screen Jukebox.

Its about 95% done. I have a few "finishing up" details to attend to. But it's been worth every drop of sweat and every dollar spent.

*sproooing*

Tim, that is awesome. I can't imagine all the work that went into that. Holy smokes that is cool. I built a stage for my TV, but nothing like what you've got going on. I don't have the room anyways, but wowzers is that theater cool. I love the "Employees Only" sign.

I don't even want to talk $$$numbers, I'll never get there, and then your significant other might now how much you really spent... We never tell them the real number anyways, right?

Are those real, actual, movie theater seats?

I worked for Good Guys a few years back, their employee discount was.... awesome I'm so glad I spent my money on the speakers I have... Klipsch, and JL I've since upgraded the TV to a Mitsu DLP and the receiver to HDMI switching... But I love my Yamaha amps, sorry Denon fanbois, and in the latest upgrade, the old Yamaha now drives my subs. Car subs in a homemade box, and I got a killer deal (free) on gloss black Formica. Its not 1000W worth, but with 3 12s and the kind of excursion that would make Jean Luc's Away team jealous... Ehh, my neighbors probably hate me.

Question for you. Syballant S. How do you quiet that? On a super amplified system with a huge dynamic range, I hear that Hssssssssssss so bad, especially in the quiet scenes. I've been told to pick up a huge EQ, like 28 bands and just turn down that band, but the S is going to be a different freq for every actor and movie??

Oh, what are your favorite movies to demo??

I just gotta say, The Patriot, the scene where he Gibson rescues his son from the British. Pearl Harbor, during the bombing stuff and when they get the Mustangs up in the air to fight the zeros. Star Wars I, Pod Racer scene.

Talk to me about your jukebox. I snagged a 20" touchscreen monitor from work... Its an older CRT, had vertical collapse and a $7 cap kit brought it back to life. I don't know if its worth the hassle, but I wanted to hook it up to a very basic PC with Itunes so it could be used to play music. What program are you using on it?
