I worked at a mall when I was a teenager. We just kept a bucket in our back room and when we felt like it, we'd walk down to the theaters and get it filled for free.

Now all the theaters in town are free standing and 3 out of the 4 malls we had are gone.

Would much rather watch at home. Large sreen and a sound system that would envy some theaters. Not to mention an open bar along with a full fridge. To each his own but my popcorn is next to nothing.

We are big Star Wars fans, too. Son was born few months before the movie came out and it was our first "date night" after having him. Brought him and daughter up with Star Wars (bought the first VHS edition of the original movie and back then it cost $99!!). Now grankids are being brought up to be fans, too.

Our tickets are at 9:00 in the morning. We plan to be there at least an hour ahead. Read one small part of review (didn't want to read further because of Plot Spoiler Alert) but review said it should be one of the top three grossing films of all times.

Everybody have a good time watching it! My sister (who has only seen the FIRST movie and none of the others) is getting to go to the 7pm showing tonight with her family. Her husband who recently passed away was a big Star Wars fan so I think she's going for him. Sent her an email with an outline of the prior 6 movies (VERY brief outlines) that I found online so that she would have a background of people. Guess she'll be calling me about 11 tonight to let me know what she thinks!

I assure you that I can beat the "theater" experience at home. With the popcorn and everything.

I just want to see this tonight because of spoilers. I have went out of my way not to see the trailers, and to keep spoiler free. I think that would be too hard to do after this weekend.

Tim

In the Theater now for the 7:00 showing! All four screens are sold out tonight. We were supposed to eat then head to the theater around 5:00ish. We drove past and the line was already snaking. Not the first ones in but still got "our seats". Now to wait it out for 3 hours. I was 7 when Star Wars came out, so I'm as excited as the kids.

Same thing here, Tim. After the second trailer came out, I have purposefully avoided watching, reading, or listening to anything else. I won't even watch a tv commercial on it.

Can't wait for that opening crawl to set it all up from the last 30 years.

When you install a Imax 3D screen at your home, THEN it would be worth buying the DVD:thumbup:

Until then, I'll still be watching movies like this, in the theater.

Have you seen my theater? Maybe not imax, but a 110 inch screen is awful big from 12 feet away. Lol. Can't do 3d, though. Give me a headache

It did not disappoint! Had a great time!

I don't personally know any of the people in the picture but it was cool to see them all dressed up

Saw it last night ourselves. Bought our tickets back on October 20 for a 7:00 pm showing last night.

For the occasional Star Wars fan, its a very good movie. For a BIG Star Wars fan, its awesome. Very good continuation of the series.

Can't wait for episode 8.

X2 on that. I was head usher at a downtown theater when I was in school. Saturdays were the best; we'd have actual riots.

When you go to one of the first showings of a movie like this, there are some serious fans present so aside from the occasional appropriate applause here and there, everyone was well behaved.

Or maybe I was so engrossed in the movie I didn't notice any bad behavior, lol! Plus we went to the 10:15 show when most children are asleep in bed
