Lou - sorry to hear about the "snide remarks" that were made when you two were boarded first for very good reasons. Unfortunately some flyers are very rude and inconsiderate these days.

I'm so glad I don't have to fly much anymore.

Glad to hear there's a possible transplant in Laura's future and will keep her (and you) in our prayers.

Herk
One page of our adoption paperwork had a brief statement about traveling with a newly adopted child. You'll never see those people again so don't worry about what they think. I apply that to many travel situations these days.

Thanks for the update. You guys deserve medals.

Best thoughts and healing prayers going your way. Praying that the wait will be very short and a great match is waiting.

It's a shame there are always the rude uncaring selfish group of people around, ignore them their not worth your time. Great to hear about the transplant assessment and I sure hope that everyone fills in their donor card or lets their loved ones know their wishes, good luck.

Lou,

Thanks for the update. It was good to see both of you at Goshen, and I'm glad you got to make the trip to the family reunion on the west coast.

Keeping you both in our thoughts, and praying for a quick and complete match for a transplant for Laura.

Oh, I guess I should also say my typical "over think" got me in trouble on the flight home. Since I could not be sure that they would again allow me to stow that oversized travel case in the overhead I took the memory chip that has her prescription encoded on it out of the cycler in case they dropped or lost it.

I remembered taping it to her "book" and stuffing the book in my backpack.

Well when we got home and started setting everything up, I looked in the book and the tape and chip was GONE!

A frantic hour later EVERYTHING was strewn all over the bedroom and the pack was turned inside out. I called her sister in Oregon in a panic and had her checking our bedroom there and MY sister who picked us up at the airport to check her car. My biggest fear was it fell out in the plane.

So, I took a GIANT "chill pill" and sat down; got my heart rate under control and started over again.

Found it in a ball of tape stuck to the side of a pack compartment I had previously jammed my hand in; "confirmed empty"; and never looked in again.

Why is it always in the last place you look?
(Don't answer that - it was rhetorical )

To answer your question.... because we didn't look there first. It happens all the time.

Happy to here your heart rate was soon back under control. those chill pills have a way of working. I think I would have had a full panic attack.

Hope all goes well for you and the better half in the coming days and weeks.
