Lou: Sorry for these setbacks and the difficulties which you and Laura continue to battle, and thankful for the positive manner in which you are able to do so. I will pray for continued strength and peace for you both as you face these challenges.

My thoughts and prayers are with you guys. I was on Hemodialysis at a clinic for 4 years. We also had to sell our seasonal site trailer but was still able to camp some (in a tent) on weekends since my dialysis schedule was mon, wed, fri mornings. One evening we were sitting at home and our phone rang, it was my transplant coordinator saying that a kidney had become available and to be at the hospital the next morning. This year at the end of December it will be 9 years with my kidney. We have since had 2 new trailers and are enjoying life again. I know that it can get discouraging at times but stay strong, there is hope for a very happy future. If you have any concerns about dialysis or transplants please feel free to contact me.
Best wishes,

I check the forum every day to see if you have posted an update. I have been praying every day for a positive outcome to Laura. Done give up on your dreams of travel, good things can still happen, remember God is in control.

First, I am sorry for your issues and pray they improve.

Second, Do not give up hope for travelling. While I have not shared this on this forum before I am also on dialysis.

If your PD does not clear up look into home hemodialysis with Next Stage. We dialyize at home not in a clinic. When we travel the procedure is different and a little more difficult but we have not let us stop. Next Stage will ship supplies to whenever you travel. You just need to bring small items and your machine (weighs about 80 pounds).

PM me if you would like to discuss this in more detail.

Best of Luck

Keeping you both I my prayers. Stay strong Lou. Sometimes the care giver needs as much help and care as the person receiving care. Let others help you if someone is available. Bless you both!

Praying for both you and Laura Lou. Hope that the Catheter is not rejected, but if you have to go home-hemo, our son says that it is a pretty routine proceedure and training is similar to PD.

So very sorry the Berkie buy is not going to work out for you. FWIW, our son said a Home HD unit is not much larger than a small office copier.

Please keep us all updated as you can - we're praying for you brother.
