Well, better than some (not all by any means), and I won't be drawing blood every waking hour.

She is feeling a little better this morning.

Found out she will need "in clinic" PD starting monday; every day for 7 hours for two weeks while her wounds heal.

She is home now and healing.

Still leaks when being dialyzed so we are on a gravity system till she is fully healed. Maybe another two - three weeks. VERY work intensive (bandage changes, multiple connects and disconnects). Very painful as her skin is thin and the adhesive tears her up. Infection control is a big challenge.

Kids are coming for Thanksgiving week so that will also be a challenge.

I made reservations for 16 at a local hotel for Turkey dinner. Would rather pay than try to cook on top of all this. Desert and coffee here after dinner but we have that covered.

Will set the family up with a 3D movie (have plenty of recycled 3D glasses from Real 3D cinemas) should be a blast.

Happy Turkey Day to everyone.

Still Praying

Thanks for the update. It must be quite the challenge in organizing appointments, care and bandage changes, plus Thanksgiving dinner. We are still praying for you both and do appreciate the update. I am sure it is difficult to find a moment to post an update. Both of you trying and get as much rest as possible....please know that I don't post very much you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Many thanks. I have also been an infrequent visitor lately due to pressing nursing duties.

We continue to pray for a suitable match and strength for the both of you. You mentioned, Herk, infection control concerns. When DW's kidney's were thought to be destroyed due to a medication error, there was no fistula in place as this was a sudden event. So, a port was inserted in the stomach area as a temporary measure and trying to keep this area dry and germ free was a big challenge. They recommended Glad brand "Press 'n Seal". This is like saran wrap on steroids. Don't know if this would be of any help at all, but thought I'd mention.
