When emotions are involved, some things are best to be left unsaid by people. Look to The Lord and may His Will be done.

[QUOTE=Herk7769;1234993]Please, in addition to your prayers; check YES for "DONOR" when you get your driver's license renewed.

The wife and myself have been donors for years so we can keep our spirit alive in somebody else.

Prayers for a successful outcome.

Don't take your organs to heaven,
Heaven knows we need them here.

Different states have different rules with organ donation. When I worked in MD, the family could override your consent on your license. In NC, registering as an organ donor with your license is considered legal consent and the family can not override that choice. As a nurse who has held the hands of families making these difficult decisions I encourage you to check the box so your loved ones don't have to choose for you. Also have the conversation with your spouse/family so they know your wishes regarding end of life care. And yes I am a registered organ donor. I have been for as long as I can remember. I trust my husband to love me enough to honor my wishes and let me live on through helping another live.

My wife Dianna was worked up twice at U of M for heart transplant. Fortunately we were able to find a new way to treat her heart issues and a transplant was not needed. Dark days in deed for a 40 something year old. Those considering organ donation please know that the Gift of Life is for people of all ages.
Thanks for bringing this to the conversation in such a personal way.
Certainly praying for you Monday.

Heading for Lankenau Medical Center this morning. Sofia donates at about 8am EDT and Laura's kidney should arrive from Oklahoma at 4pm or so and her surgery will start about an hour later.

Will post status if I can as the day progresses.

No worries if no post today, as I am planning on staying the night on a couch at the hospital.
