Please, in addition to your prayers;
check YES for "DONOR" when you get your driver's license renewed.
When tragedy strikes seconds count in the viability of an organ. Searching for a next of kin to give permission wastes valuable hours before they can begin the process to remove, test, match, and transport the usable organs to the airport for the flight to the waiting recipients. The longer the organ is "on ice", the less likely your gift will live.
Even if the next of kin is available, the shock of what has happened can make them incapable of making a coherent decision or in some states (like PA - please call your representatives regarding HB30), even proving they are the ones who can legally make that decision.

Petition your congressmen to pass similar laws in your state if you don't have a similar one.
While prayers DO HELP, your affirmative action to make your and your loved ones lives matter for years on this earth, well beyond the grave.
After the spirit is gone, all that is left is meat. Please make someone else's life better as a result of your tragedy.
Talk to your family TODAY about your desire to donate the gift of life to another after you are gone.
Remember there are small children in need of organs, bone marrow, and skin too and your child's gift can give a long life to another child who most likely will have a short painful life without it.
Thank you from the depth of my soul to everyone who cares enough to be a donor,
Lou
