tonneau cover

I'm thinking about getting a "Bakflip" tonneau cover for the truck. Anybody have one? Do you like it? Just had the Rhino bed liner put in today. Sure looks good!

I ordered the Bakflip cover and was really disappointed with it. It was poorly made, I will try to attach photos, and I sent it back. I also ordered the Bakflip toolbox and had to eat shipping and restocking fee since nothing was wrong with it. I could not use it but with a Bak and I would not purchase another Bakflip cover.

I ended up ordering the extang encore. I really like it since it opens from both ends, is easy to remove. It does not fold all the way up like the Bakflip but it is easy to remove from the truck if you need the whole bed. \

I will try to figure out how to send pics of my Bakflip

If you look along the edge of the rail you can see the rubber is lifted and you can see what looks like double sticky back tape holding it down. This is right out of the box. I sent these pics to the national sales manager and got no response. I then sent them to the ceo who did apologize but that was the end of it. I was not upset or angry just wanted them to see the workmanship and maybe they can address it with their production. this all happened about a month ago.

Anyway, my nickels worth..

Wow, dang dalford. You got a bad one for sure. I have the BakFlip G2 and am totally satisfied with it. I had a Extang Tri-fold before on my 8' bed and liked it as well, but as you noted, it did not fold all the way up. The BakFlip goes all the way, leaving only about 6 inches at the front of the bed. It does lay up against the window, which is not great, but it's not a terrible thing either. It has 4 folds, I fold it 3 times when I'm pulling my 5th wheel. I have had no problems with mine and would recommend it.

I have an Extang trifold soft cover, and am very satisfied.
Top notch construction and quality of material.
I only wish I could afford a hard top!

To deviate a lil' further south....I have an older ExTang roll-up cover with the velcro on the rails and absolutely love it. Their customer service is second to none. I bought my TV used with a torn cover and ExTang replaced it under the lifetime warranty at NO CHARGE. That is really cool.

I bought the Bakflip VP. This is a vinyl covered hard top unit. Stay away from it. I think if you go with a hard surface you probably won't experience the issues I had.

The feature I really love about the Extang Encore is it opens from the front and the back. It is keyed to my truck key so it is easy to lock. Anything that slides to the front of the bed is easy to retrieve by opening the front fold.

I have a RetraxPro hardtop roll up cover. I have nothing but good to say about it (even with having issues of it leaking water thru- they replaced it under warranty).

Not what the OP asked, of course. :-)

I have an "Under Cover" cover. I had one for 7 years traded for a new truck and bought another:

Undercover ô is the new standard in tonneau covers. Our Patented X-effect ô design and advanced polymers give this tonneau cover unparalleled strength and durability at a fraction of the weight and less cost than fiberglass.

The picture below in not the best picture of the cover but you can see it and better pictures at the link above.
