Towing Capacity of A Land Rover Defender

Just wondering how big of a RV I could tow with a LRD? Perhaps a larger "Tear Drop" ?

Their service is outstanding. I had the son of a Land Rover Service Tech. in my Sunday ski class from 9:30 - 3:00. When he dropped his son off, dad told me he might be a little late or his wife might pick up. A customer had a problem with their Rover & he was going out to see what the problem was.

In any case,I am surprised the Rover out pulled the Dodge (even if it was in 4x2).

The trick is to hold your brakes until they start to spin then ease on hard with limited wheel spin. The spinning tires make it very easy to out pull.

You don't have to be bigger just smarter.

In Europe, the Defender is rated to tow 7500 pounds, I think. Many members of the "Caravan Club" have used the short wheel-base LR to tow big TTs since the 1950's, evne with the old 2-liter 4-banger engine.
