Trending Articles

This is extremely distracting and an utterly ridiculous addition to the forum IMHO. Administrators PLEASE REMOVE THEM!

Is there any way to block them?????

You can turn them off on your user CP.

I looked under CP and could not figure it out. They would be ok if at the bottom of the page but you see the first post and think there are no more until you scroll past the annoying thing.

I found it, turned them off.

Saved changes.

It reverted back to "on".

Several times.

I couldn't either, but I'm computer literate.

I have the solution for me, go to another forum for a few days and then if no solution is posted, stay off. Adios!

All I could find was Recommended Articles On/Off not Trending Articles. That feature requires a premium account to turn it off so I guess I am S.O.L. and will have to get used to it being there.

I was able to turn it all off by going to user CP, edit options, scroll down, turn off recommended options. Next to it, it does say premium account required but if you click on that link it will tell you that no such thing exists on this forum. Once you click turn off recommended articles you must scroll to the bottom and click save changes. This should fix the problem

We are looking into this. If the members cannot turn off the option, then the fix may have to come from the forums tech administration if it's software related.

The recommended articles is different than the trending articles. We are working on this. Please be patient.

This is pretty crappy. The same lame articles over and over, poorly written and awful topics!

If we can not turn them off then disable the ads. Just a commercial run fo Starburst fruit chews. It is obvious there tracking software has no idea who the demographic is for this site.

I used an ad blocker and it allowed me to show what I wanted to appear on the page. I showed enough of the page until they were all gone.

Sorry about the way this was rolled out, it was my fault. I should have given Janet and the team more of a heads up on this article widget. We disabled the widget and will work on a better way to implement it based on your feedback. We will find a way to disable it if you don't like it. We will also look into a paid membership level to turn off most of ads if you would rather an ad free experience.

Thanks for your feedback and once again, sorry about the way this was rolled out.

Oh... Let's just hope it is the stinky slinky of one of those campers who do not use their head for anything other than number 1...
