TV Tires - Goodyear Wrangler SR-A Issues

I have a split in the outside tread on two tires that were on the rear. Dealer just did a rotation and I noticed the splits when I got home. Don't think the dealer caused this but wondering if the tires need replaced.

I would replace them, if they split more, the tread will no doubt come loose and cause some real damage. Would also take them to a GY dealer and try to get warranty of some kind as it doesn't appear to be a road hazard event, but a mfg defect.

Agree, if that were mine, I would replace it. But I disagree with a mfg defect. Look at the lug beside of the split. The cut continues on to the next lug.

If it were just the lug cut, then I don't think it would worry me. But that cut looks like it goes into the tire.

Hard to figure that 2 tires have similar flaws that appear to go down to the cords and the flaws match the lug contour. Would definitely agree it was a cut if it didn't match the lug contour on both tires. Would still go for defect, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

The two pictures are of the same crack.
Funny the dealer didn't say something.
On a regular vehicle, I wouldn't worry too much, but on a TV, it is a definite concern. I would also replace them, warranty or not..

Appears so. That is why I thought it was a cut.

Sorry to confuse the group. The first two pics are the same tire. Here is the left tire.

Looks like a similar flaw that has progressed farther along the bottom outside of the lug.

Purchased the truck last July and now have 18K miles on it. About 8K towing the TT. I will take it back to the dealer and see what they have to say. Will fight for warranty. Have to check my papers to see if they are covered for road hazard as well. I was concerned that the towing may have contributed to the issue. Definitely need to be replaced regardless. Safety first. Thanks for the input.

Looks like there is lots of tread left, so they really shouldn't be doing that. Are they made in China?

Let's not go there! We all have to use tires and probably 75% are made overseas. We all can't be lucky enough to get the 25% made here.

Resolved!

My dealer, Thompson GMC/Buick/Cadillac in Springfield, MO, replaced both tires no charge. DW says I should go buy a new Caddy for her since they did me right.
