I love me some Carter Oosterhouse!! Seriously......this guy has waaaaayyyy too much time and money on his hands. I'd gladly help him dispose of some. Motorcycles he doesn't ride? And hasn't even started them up? Looks like the guy is single too. So apparently all the money hasn't bought "love." I wonder if he wants to adopt some adult kids....LOL.

Wonder what a good cross wind would do.. I could see one going down under the ground for RV storage, but that's another 5 million. Think I could spend it more wisely. Anyone want me to help spend their money?

I guess I'm with you. Just all seems a bit presumptious and egotistical. Just because you "can" doesn't mean you "have" to.

True that. Wonder what he pays in property taxes for four homes? Egads! He made it a point of saying everytime he pushes the button for the elevator it costs him $25. So I'm thinking he likes to flaunt it just a tad....but you're right, whatever trips his trigger.

I don't believe his claim of $25 per button push.
Unless my calculations are off, using my electric rate of $0.11/kWh, and assuming it takes 5 minutes to raise it, that is approximately 2.7 Mega Watts of power, which equates to 3.6 MILLION HP!!
I don't think so...unless my math is off somewhere.
It's all pretty cool none-the-less!
EDIT: My math was off by a factor of 1000, so it's 3600 HP. That seems more reasonable, but still, it shouldn't take that much HP to raise 250k lbs.

Well considering this guys ego, he probably put in his own electrical generating plant as he probably is not satisfied just using the same electricity that you and I would be

Neat looking but if I had that kind of money to burn I'd be traveling in that RV and seeing everything. Not too sure there's such a thing as way too much money. Of course I'll never know but it might be fun trying to get there.

You know, its not like he did the work himself. He put a bunch of guys to work building all this stuff for him. I'm not saying those guys got rich or anything... But I have similar customers, and when they want stuff done, and they want it done now, you just get it done. And then charge them LOTS.
Hey, so it was a good couple of months for me and I had some scratch to buy a trailer. Somebody had to build that for me...
I've got things that other people would call extravagent.
How many guys in here drive 1 ton diesel trucks?
How many guys in here drive a 40 foot mobile home?
How many guys in here have a couple of Harleys?
How many guys in here have are snowbirds and go to another home in CA or FL for the winter?
How many guys in here have a big ol fishing boat?
Being extravagent, or just enjoying a few toys? Its all relative... I want all that stuff, too. But I won't begrudge the guy who does have it.

Watch the video to the end, they drive the motorhome down there. Although it barely fits, they get it down there just fine.

When you take into consideration how much he's worth, he was being sensible sort of, he had limited parking for his many millions of dollars of collectible cars/bikes that he bought for their collectible value not to drive. And as far as a waste of resources, a waste would have been leveling land near his home putting up a giant warehouse and creating an eye sore in Lake Tahoe. His entire second garage takes up no space or "visual" pollution. You wouldn't open and leave some collectible $50.00 comic book laying around were someone might set their coffee cup on it. Or put a Picaso in direct sun light just because it fit in the hall. He protected his millions of dollars of investments with his money. Don't we all spend hundreds annually to put covers on our RVs, pay for safe off site storage, battery tenders and mait. equipment for RVs that cost thousands.
A very wealthy man I worked for once said. "Son there's not much difference between me and you. I didn't understand that until I got where I am today, the only difference is I put more zeros on deposit slips, even more on checks, and I worry who's gonna steel from me next."
Is the guy
Extreme, yes
Out of my league, yes
Will I ever make it to that league, I sure am trying

Really don't know how he survives on only a few hundred million.
Money just don't buy what it used to...
