verified online scam going around

Don't normally do this, but with the rash of home invasions and crimes against people and property, I thought the warning from my friend who owns her own computer company was well worth repeating.
************************************************
One of my good friends is in the computer industry and reported that an elderly client of hers just got a call from a tech support site.
The caller was masquerading as tech support from Asus corporation and claimed that the motherboard of her computer may have a glitch.
He added that if she would allow him to log on to her computer he would fix it for her.

Her client was smart and said no and asked for their phone number to call back if she changed her mind.

This is the phone number he gave to her: 1-888-408-4117 and even gave his ID #1-2641 to sound more legitimate.

My friend called this number and they claimed that they are a legit website giving tech support to people who want them to help and that the tech support site is in india.

Read the link below. Just be beware as this is yet another computer scam.

Thanks I replaced it with several other variants of the same scam.

The sad thing is that for all the calls they make, they will, invariably, scam some unsuspecting soul.
