very bad start to day

With my wife having the car today, I took my truck to go walking at the mall. After a few miles, the oil light came on, oil pressure dropped to zero, and before I could get to a place to pull over, engine started to rattle and then quit. Called my step-son, he said would pick me up on his way to work. After going over half hour out of his way, we got home. He left his car running, and came around to help me get out and I accidentally hit the lock button. Now his car is running in my drive, all doors locked. He called his wife, and it takes over half hour to get here. He left here at 10:45 am to be at work at 11 am, but has over an hour's drive to get there. We didn't have room in his car for my walker, but I can get around with a cane. Some days it just doesn't pay to get out of bed.

You'd never know what a good day is unless you have a bad day once in a while. Hope tomorrow goes alot better for you and your step-son.

That's enough to make a guy just want to crawl back in bed and pull the covers up over his head.

I guess your Step-Son's car doesn't have OnStar.

What's the finding on your truck engine?

Then again, there are many folks who didn't make it out of bed this morning.
Count your blessings...

Sounds like a day in the life of an active man (woman). Blessed to have a truck. Blessed to have family that you can depend on. Blessed to have $ for internet/smart phone. Blessed to have friends on this forum who share in your mishaps. Have a great day today.

Here is a tip for you, your son and everyone else. When you lock your keys in your vehicle, and have a cell phone handy, Call the person with the other key fob and have them press the unlock button neat their phone while you hold your phone near the door lock. Surprise, I know this works. Been there done that.

2 Options... besides these. Hide a key thingy... I carry regular keys right pocket.... backup keys left pocket. Funny thing is... I don't have a spare house key. I guess I could just go somewhere else till b/u arrives...or go out to shop or 5er. HA HA

I unlock my truck with my cell phone occasionally too.

I call ONSTAR.

That other thing is pure hoax.

Even my bad day yesterday was blessed. I remember one morning in Sept 2008 I got on my Harley and left for work. Five minutes later I was laying in a ditch waiting to die after a truck ran a stop sign and hit me. I still don't know how I survived. Even though I was left with a crippled leg, I say every next morning you get to wake up is a blessing. The worst part of yesterday was putting others out to help me.
