Pictures taken by yours truly on I-55 south of St. Louis last week. Notice that BOTH rear doors are open...

What? Storage racks don't drive themselves home!

Seriously, I can't think of a modern vehicle that doesn't have fold down rear seats, could have just slid it into the trunk.

I saw this happen at a Staples! They were fitting a huge desk set into a similar-sized car. I asked them where they were headed and they gave a location like 20 miles away that the main route is via I-95. I assume that they made it, but man oh day.

that was my thought. Hell, even if the seats don't fold down, I'd slide that sucka up so deep in the trunk, the sky be cryin'. (<-- Old web humor reference) and then use the rope to tie down the trunk lid.

With all that rope could have just tied it to the roof. I have to say, I have yet to be able to take a clear pic of anything while driving.

I have to say that I am stunned at the quality of the pictures taken by my new Samsung Galaxy S4. Who'da thought a lens of approx 1.5 mm could do so well.

This is off topic of course, but as a pro I see it all the time that what phones can do today (I have an iPhone 5S and I'm very impressed.) is simply amazing.

What's depressing is everyone is a photographer plus the need for pros is dropping. We're not necessary, people accept the good enough cell phones so news agencies are firing photography staffs left and right. Chicago Sun Times canned their whole staff in one shot, some guys had been there 30+ years. Reuters did the same.

You'd think, as much demand for media as we have that wouldn't be the case but a basic shot that looks good in web format is all they need.

Working a summer job at Lowes during college ('96) loaded a 56-gallon water heater into the passenger seat of a new Corvette. I just fastened the seatbelt around it and said "Have a good one!" This doesn't surprise me at all.

You're a braver man than I am - when I see something stupid like that on the road I give the driver a lot more room and space than you did here. I doubt the box would slide out,but you never know.

I am perfectly capable of taking a picture while driving in a safe manner.

You will notice that I am not in my beloved Excursion. I'm in Bob, my 1997 Olds 88 transporation appliance, (Aka: work car). I feel exactly zero affection for Bob other than the fact that he gets double the MPG and keeps me from grinding the Exy to dust simply to go back and forth to work. Had the box slid out, I doubt I would have attempted a swerve to miss it. With that being said, however, I feel the safest place to keep someone like that is behind you. And seeing how I was going to pass him anyway, I figured I'd snap a pic.
