I am a parts manager now at a auto dealership that I started at 20 years ago as a runner. DW was also in parts but left it to be a collision center writer. Very much happier now.

And what's this word you all keep saying? "Retirement?" I don't think I will be familiar with that one. 😜

Spent 21 years in the Met Police, London, England. During that time I worked foot patrols, traffic (Highway) patrol, gained my advanced driver ticket, qualified as a vehicle examiner and anti hijack driving cert. Finished my career working at a major London airport on the counter terrorist unit conducting armed patrols (yes, I was one of the limited number of UK cops to carry a firearm - Glock and MP5) and qualified as a sniper/counter sniper. Was also a qualified to be an airside driving instructor for police at the airport.

Emigrated to Canada ten years ago and now work as the manager for Protective Services in a major hospital. My other half worked as a teacher, then principal of an infant school in the UK but now owns and runs her own preschool.

Retired from Ford Motor Co., after 32 years in manufacturing. Happily retired since 1998.

what a variety of careers

Just finished reading the "what did you do" posts...wow! I retired from the U.S.Navy after 21 years in 1980, mostly haze gray and underway on carriers. Was in communications which was helpful in a second career in broadcast television retiring in 2001. DW is retired real estate broker/property manager. Camped in a pop-up for several years back in the '90s but got to busy, last Nov we purchased a 2012 Coachmen Apex 214rb towing with 2012 Ram 1500 hemi crew. Best trip so far was the Outer Banks just 140 or so miles from home. Looking forward to next year and new adventures.
