What I did with my Summer

Well, here is what I did with most of last winter and this summer when I wasen't camping. I race NHRA Super Pro and Super Gas. It is a 1972 Camaro Z28 powered by an alcohol injected 434 ci SBC backed by a Turbo 400 transmission. Leaving wheels up at 5800RPM on the trans brake and shifting at 8500 RPM is pretty much the most fun you can have with your pants on. I bought the car as a gutted race car, I built the engine, trans and did the electronics myself with some help from friends. I grenaded the engine after 7 passes at the start of the season, I rebuilt with some salvaged and new parts and was back racing 2 weeks later. There are a bunch of pics at the link listed below.

Last ones, I swear. I am hoping in the next few years to find a nice 48' race car trailer with living quarters that I can pull behind the Volvo. Kind of combine both hobbies. The pits get pretty crowded with the Volvo and 41 ft trailer, 32 ft car trailer, dually and race car.

Best I have run was 9.07 at 5200 feet DA in the heat. At sea level that equates to about 8.70's. I still have my 12.xx second Chevelle SS454 for playing on the street and ocasionally the track. It is great for cooking rice.
