In Georgia, I hear, they add Hersey bars, cooked into your order, to help that process.

Scattered, smothered and Covered is the way for hash browns for me.

Yeah, I think that's the scattered, smothered, covered and chunked part.

I have eaten at an Awful Waffle a few times and managed to survive the experience. If I am starved and it is the only option, I will eat there.

I have a reverence for the Waffle House. I was in NC and the waitress taught me all the ways to eat grits. I settled on melted butter and black pepper, but I did have a "go around". I had to ask the poor girl 4 times what the soup of the day was. I just couldn't understand "bechatabull".

I won't reveal what bechatabull soup is but I will say meat lovers will be disappointed. if I eat at waffle house, I usually get the ham and cheese omelet with extra crispy hash browns.

There's at least one that I know of in PA, just off I-78 in Hellertown, near Bethlehem. But I'll admit that I usually only eat at one when I'm in The South. It's more authentic...

There is also one in Washington, PA off of I-79.

Ate there at a couple different locations on our travels. Only in desperation would I eat there again.

We have 3 here just in West Monroe, all by I-20. Two are at the same exit, on opposite sides of the overpass. They always have customers. As others have stated, the food is consistent pretty much at all locations. It's nothing fabulous, but it certainly is not bad either.

I probably eat there about once or twice a month, usually to-go orders on my way to work.

Scattered , smothered, and chunked hashbrowns for moi.

I also get a ham, egg, and cheese toast sandwich. They took it off the main menu, but it's available if you ask.

The Huddle House is the similar restaurant chain that I don't like their food.

if you see one, try Huddle House, which is just a slight step up on the menu from Waffle House, but basically the same type establishment. Every one I have tried has been good.

X2 on the Huddle House - IMHO a cheap knockoff on the Awful Waffle (which, BTW, is a term of endearment these days. Back in the day 70s-80s it WAS the Awful Waffle for *sure* They got a new CEO in the 90s who cleaned up their act and today the food is very acceptable). Consistent across restaurants as well - sorta the McDonalds of breakfast resturants.

6 Actual and I eat there 2-ish times a month - she likes the bacon cheeseburger (with crispy hash browns!) I'm more traditional and like the all star special. DS only goes for the hash browns all the way.

OK now I'm hungry
