Where is it?

Anyone recognize this trail? Do you know where it is? If so did you hike it?

Isn't that Angel's Landing in Zion?

And no, didn't hike it. I'm not sure I'm fit enough to attempt it. Haven't been to Zion yet.

I have friends who did, though, and they absolutely loved it.

There is a very similar looking trail in Acadia NP called Precipice.

Yes, Angels Landing at Zion. It's on our radar for next year along with Bryce Canyon.

Here's the actual link for the photo and a description of the hike.

Frightening for some. I am sure.. But I want to do this, adding this to my list of "to do".

My 15 year daughter and I hiked the Precipice. That was a scary hike. Loved the Bee Hive in Acadia not as scary.

I know it sounds crazy: I fly hang gliders and almost make a living at it. But I could never hike that ledge. Nor can I climb a tall ladder as I get to place and simply freeze. I almost got sick while standing near the edge of the south rim at the Grand Canyon.

But several thousand feet up hanging from my wing is extremely relaxing.

At first glance one might think the "railing" is on the wrong side.

Yep, pretty sure that in my neighborhood that railing is not up to code.

Rich J.

I went hang gliding with a buddy. He had many hours flying (falling?).

I later did a via feratta climb/hike where we had to cross a 150’ bridge over a 250’ crevasse that was made of cables and 2x4s spaced every 18” or so. I went across like I was king of the damned world because I knew I was clipped into the cable and there was relatively zero risk. HE on the other hand, was white as a ghost and looked absolutely terrified.

For me, I can’t get to the edge of my roof without getting sick to my stomach and feeling like I’m falling forward. If I’m not secured in some way, I’m generally quite scared. But give me the tiniest bit of security and I’ll hang over the ledge.

People are weird!

Was just at Zion and the trail was closed because of snow. Not sure we were up for it anyway. Ranger mentioned it is so crowded in season that it can be a 2 1/2 hr wait just to start the trail.
