Why People Do This

A huge thread got started on the topic of dumping gray water on the ground. By post 6 or so, topics were all over the place.

Feel free to continue here. Oh, try to keep it sane and family friendly.

I have an idea

Since we all are from many different areas, why don't we all inquire at our local campgrounds as to what their policies are in regards to dumping gray water.

This way, the thread can be turned into a listing of CG's and their respective regulations, from all different states and provinces.

Kim,
That won't work as its too sensible but here goes ...

Not allowed in Wisconsin State Parks.

From the WI DNR ... Waste water
Please collect and dispose of dish and hand washing water at the sanitary dumping station or in campground toilets. It is against health and safety rules to dump this "gray water" on the ground.

Here is Ohio law. My reading is that this applies to all RV parks, public or private.

http://codes.ohio.gov/oac/3701-26-12

The licensee of a recreational vehicle park, recreation camp, combined park-camp or temporary park-camp shall ensure that gray water is not discharged to the surface of the ground and that gray water is disposed of in a sewage collection system....(snip)

While Wisconsin say please, Ohio says, "shall", which makes it mandatory.
