Wow, I think Amazon set a record
The other day I placed an order with Amazon at 9:05 AM.
My Doorbell rang at 10:18 AM and it was there. One hour and 13 minutes from time of order.
I know it was "human delivered" as I saw the driver in my security system monitor so it wasn't delivered by "drone".
It would have taken me longer to drive to the store that carried these items, found them, waited in line, then returned home even though the store is only 3 miles away.
Anyone else have such a rapid delivery from Amazon?

Dang, that is amazing!
I hate how the local stores are disappearing as a lot of times I like to see what I’m buying. I also hate how giant warehouses are starting to dot the landscape everywhere.
That being said, it sure is hard to argue against a buying experience like that! Amazon’s customer service is also second to none, and I sure buy my share of goods there.

Amazon know enough about you that they knew you were going to order it before you even knew, so they already had it on it's way when you ordered!

Many Amazon items are fulfilled by 3rd party vendors.
If you happened to buy something from a vendor that was local to your area, they simply picked it off the shelf and brought it to you.

As a first time RVer, anyone notice an uptick in the number of Amazon orders you placed for the year? You can go into history and see total orders.
2019: 77
2018: 76
2017: 58
2016: 47
2015: 14
2018 I got the trailer. 2019 was first year of use. I think Forest River and Amazon are in cahoots!

With Amazon having so many RV items available, and wide variety, it's like having an RV store in your lap.
Closest RV shop with any real stock for me is a 20 mile drive.
Also nice that one can order when on the road and have shipped to the campground you are in or on the way to. About the only improvement left would be to deliver a set of bearings or brakes to the roadside where you're broken down.[emoji106][emoji106]

I think it is just a sign of the times.
Our shopping online (not just Amazon) has gone up every year for the last 5 or 6 years.
As much as I hate it for the Mom & Pop stores, we consumers no longer have to pay more money for something than we have to and have a much broader selection to go with that. Gone are the days of settling for "it will work" or "it's close enough to what I wanted" when you went somewhere to buy something.
And for me, my money is more important inside MY pocket than someone else's.

Sounds like Amazon has a lot of employment opportunities in order fulfillment and delivery occupations.
We are seeing the future of shopping. Unfortunately mom and pop storefronts will be victims.

I have ordered things at night and had them show up the following morning. It all depends on the items. With popular items, they stock them locally in small distribution centers.

I ordered two hour meters for my 2000 Watt Champion generators from Amazon and they won't be delivered until sometime in January. I guess they are being shipped from China.

My South Carolina state flag spare tire cover I ordered from Amazon was delivered from China. Makes no sense.

I have a distribution center 15 minutes up the road and it still takes me days to get my stuff. It's definitely within drone distance.
Im not conviinced being close to a distro center does anything for you. At least thus far. It still has to get to the post office, and then out for delivery.

LOL..what post office? Almost ALL my Amazon deliveries are done by Amazon themselves or their contractor.
The distribution center that is near you has to have that particular item that you ordered obviously for it to be sent from there.

Same day... Yes. Ordered yesterday at 7pm. On door step 8am this morning. I'm an Amazon junkie. They are going to put a serious dent in retail.
