My Camper Roof Repair
My camper I bought it needed some repair new winch cable and roof repair the side boards were rotted out as well as the boards on the ends of the curve of the roof.
when it was a hot one today
as you can see i removed the beds and rails and slider rail holders...with these removed and the roof on at lowest highth I simply took measurements...
IT IS up in the air once again
WEll looky there it fits...still not mounted though. IF you look you can see i removed the beds and the bed trays there is a reason for this!!!
hmm almost time to mount me some plates
initial checks and mock ups after remounting the panels
Hmm this roof seems to be upside down....lol
YAY!!! one thing at a time
IT HAS A SHAPE AGAIN!!
Did i mention the clamp things yet??
CLAMPS GET ME MORE CLAMPS
new front board back went about the same....just one thing i will say...>CLAPS>>>>>>NEEED MORE CLAMPS
hmmm i found one of the leaky cuplrits that caused all this damaged...more EPOXY!!! seal every hole you find from the under side....lol
HMM if you are doing this project I highly recommend calling the manufacture and getting a pair of these. FACTORY made side board...
WOOPS i goofed was cutting and well went a little deep ...no problem..EPOXY!!!!!! lol
slowly getting where I wanted . The red circles were damaged areas where I was going back with epoxy to repair the underside
removal was a pain but slow and stead
yup had to remove the whole back peace that was the rear beam/brace and a section of the side as well. There was just to much rot
not to shabby if I say so ...and yes the other two pictures are the back and this is the front but they both turned out about the same
peeling each layer of bad wood off layer at a time...so i could save the underlying roof membrane
Rotted front board....yay
First work inside
Well the roof is proped up so i can remove the A/C unit
So far not to bad
After alot of work hey there is a roof again
