Hey Iggy,
Thank you for your input. Yes I would agree that Minedlab is the best detector, but the most priced. This weekend Iam just looking at how all the detectors with the new technology work. My wife and I love Arizona and would love to retire there..but family ties may prevent that. We will however come for vacations and hopefully do some ghostown relic hunting and gold detecting. Perhaps there will be a FROG trip in Arizona some day, and yes I would be there, but would like a little longer then just a long weekend.

Hi Barney,
I did spend about 3 years metal detecting for gold here in Arizona. I used a Mindlad 2100 v2 which is more like a entry level detector. As far as I'm concerned they have a good detector and the newest ones are up in the $5,000 range. You can find other brands but you will have to pay about $800 for those. Ild look on Craigslist and buy a used one first at $400- $500 and see if you really like it. I would not buy new as all are over priced.
