Fuse size seems to be "what ever is handy." My original install had a 5 amp fuse. During a service, someone put in a 30 amp. Would think that 50 amp is nothing more that a switch. Did forget to pull the fuse once and the battery drained in about 1 1/2 days. The Blue Ox tow bar and Patriot brake assist work very well.
