Hello Grumpy, My name is Lynh and I have a 2011 Forest River Lexington 283GTS. I seen a lot of your posts and its nice to come across another owner of 283GTS. We will be taking it out for the first time next month and I was wondering if you could answer a couple of questions for me since you own a 2012 283GTS. Question, If I want to run my water heater on Electric, do I have to turn on the "Water heater" switch on the inside control panel on or leave it off and just turn on the switch in the Water heater from outside? Also, do I have to turn off the propane tank when using electric for water heater. Thank you

Hello Grumpy, my name is Charles and I have a 2013 Forest River Lexington 300 GTS. All of my seats (driver, passenger, love seat and dining seats are some type of leather that is pealing. So I'm in the process of purchasing new chairs. Flexsteel has dropped their RV business. I don't know if you have done any of this but seems like I read somewhere that you installed swivel bases on both front seats. now would be a good time to replace the base since I am in the process of changing out the seat. any information of experience that you can share would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Grumpy,
Was reading an old post of yours regarding the wiring for a ceiling vent fan and have a question. I know the response you received was that it was one-sided in a loop from fridge to rear to front. I have a 2004 Lexington with the power vent in rear bedroom and want to add one to the vent (non-powered) in the living/kitchen area. Now for the question. When I remove the schroud from the vent there are wires on both sides with no visual break. They are white and purple and seem to be of larger gauge then the regular black and white to and from the lights and such. Do you remember what your wires looked like? Thanks in advance,
    Karen

Ps, they are not so large as to be an AC 110 line

    Grumpy,
I saw a post that you did NE last summer. How much time is needed to see Acadia? I've plugged in 5 nights but don't know if that is the right number.
    Thanks!

I know you're a senior member and also have the 283GTS so here's my question.
So has anyone actually had frOzen pipes? I know about a lot of suggestions on what to do if the temps drop but what are the actual chances the pipes will burst if you suddenly come across below zero temps while camping. I have several friends who say they've never done any of the preventative measures and not had a problem. Are they just lucky or is that normal? Have you done much cold weather camping and what has your experience been?

    Thanks
    Robert
