    What I wish it had...

Max cargo - Lower cargo and axle weight ratings are the bane of half ton owners who want to tow anything big. I'll never get anywhere near Ford's advertised tow rating of 11,000 lbs for this truck but we're towing a 6750 lb GVWR trailer so that's not a problem... at least, not now!

Overall we're very happy with the truck. If I can help in any other way, please ask.

    Hi Chris,

Before I get to the other towing features, a word about the V6 Ecoboost. It has proven to be an excellent powerplant for a tow vehicle. Just don't believe the fuel economy claims.

Other features I'm glad it has:

Tow package - the integrated trailer brake controller is excellent. Unlike aftermarket inertia controllers, there's a sensor on the brake pedal that applies the trailer brakes in proportion to how hard you're pushing on the truck brakes.

Long (6.5') box - love the extra room, the pop-out covers for the stake pockets and - most of all - the 136L (36 gal) fuel tank.

3.73 rear end - definitely helpful for towing.

Tow mirrors - Canadian trucks don't automatically include them as part of the tow package, but I'm glad I bought them even if they were outrageously expensive!

Rear view camera - Very nice for hitching

Select shift transmission - I like being able to gear down manually.

John, I've read a few of your posts about towing with a Sequoia and a subsequent transition to a Ford F-150. We're in a similar position, towing with a 2005 Dodge Durango 5.7L Hemi, which we are considering retiring. I also foresee a future trailer change from the current Shamrock 21DK to a non-hybrid travel trailer, perhaps slightly longer, e.g., a Rockwood 2304DS.

For passenger transportation reasons, a 2-door won't work. From your pics, I see you have a 4-door. Can you tell me how it has worked out for you, including your experience towing in mountainous regions? Also, other than being a V6 Ecoboost, what other towing features does your truck have? What do you wish it had, that it doesn't?

    Thanks for your time.
