Hey there, we've had good luck with Chevy/GMC 2500 and Dodge 3500. We tried hauling our first TT (30ft bunkhouse from Keystone), but underpowered for Colorado mountain passes. We eventually sold that truck and bought a Dodge 3500 w/turbo diesel and haven't looked back!!

Actually, we were told by the dealer who sold us our first travel trailer (keystone) that our Escalade could tow it easily. Well, yeah, it had the power on the flats and rolling hills, but the mtns--another story. Plus the wheelbase was kinda short for such a long trailer. We rarely visit dealers now and trust very little of their advice...

Like I eluded to earlier, we tried gas trucks, but had to move up to diesels just to pull our trailer. We've since sold travel trailer and have a 32ft Sabre 5th wheel, which is close to 10K lbs unloaded.

We are from The Sea Ranch, Danville and San Francisco, Hubby was a Marine and is from NY. We are in a ForestRiver Flagstaff 8528RKWS...We have a Ford 150which turned out to way too weak to pull this unit regardless of what we were told..we are too new at this and now we are shopping for a 250 or 2500. We are in Santa Cruz now enjoying the Redwoods...Are you traveling?...We are part-timers and travel in the warm weather...Do you have a truck manufacturer preference? Donna and Doug
