Off to OBX...much needed vacation

Heading to the N.C. Outer Banks for a whole week:trink39:. Ocean Waves CG is a small mom and pops CG on Hatteras Island that we've been going to for years. The campground consists of one short road with sites on both sides. It has full hook ups minus cable and almost zero amenities but it's literally only across the dune to the ocean. Until now we've only used the Crusader for a max of 3 nights @ a time. Looking forward to spending the week in it:). Just finished washing the camper and did a once over of the truck in case we decide to hit the off road vehicle beach....are we there yet....are we there yet....are we there yet....

What's the name of the place? We are wanting to go there in the next couple of years for our summer vacation.

Sounds like fun, Jason & Billie! We spent just shy of 2 weeks on Hatteras Island in June/July and I already miss it! We hate it that we have to wait a whole year in between visits to HI!

Since we prefer to drive ourselves and all our beach stuff onto the beach, we stay at The Frisco Woods Campground. It is really nice and is on the Pamilco Sound side so the evening sunsets are spectacular! Love Hatteras Island!!

We stayed at Frisco Woods a couple years ago. Unfortunatly we only had a 2wd truck at the time which made going to the ocean side beach kind of a pain. Ocean Waves is about .5 miles past the KOA on the ocean side. You have to make reservations early in the year to get a site though.

Well, vacation has started:trink39:. 3 hour trip down here in the pouring rain and wind but that's ok:cool: The more I pull a 5er the more I love it. The whoopty doo's on the Wright Bro's Memorial Bridge seemed almost non existent. Made a good impression on the neighbors, got it on spot in the first stab. Boy, the road in/out of this placed seemed bigger when I had a smaller trailer:roflblack:. Now I'm just relaxing with a cold one and listening to the rain:thumbsup:

"If it ain't rainin', we ain't trainin'!"

Glad you're relaxing. Enjoy it. I can't wait for our next sortie.
