HELP!!! Accu slide gearbox problem
2 Attachment(s)
I am scourring internet to find help about broken flex drive shaft on Accu slide gearbox. Motor and gear box seem to be functioning, but drive is "twisted" in half. Of course its Sunday and nothing is open. Mobile repairman can't get parts. We are stranded because slide won't go in. Is there anyway to use a 1/8" square piece of metal/rod temporarily?
Thanks for any input! M Clemens |
Disconnect the chains and push it in, then put a brace like a 2x4 over it on the inside so it can't open. Mine was only a wardrobe slide so it wasn't heavy to push in, which slide is It?

16ft U shaped dinette slide, couldn't even push it out, definitely not comimg back up floor angle.

yes it will work if you disconnect the chain . i've pushed in that size before by myself once chain it removed . you will need to set blocks so it can't open going down the road . Cable slide mechanisms are the worst and can't believe they still use them |

I guess it's not impossible, but I failed to mention that we are full timers and the full length couch in the slide is full of stuff under the seats. :-) We had 4 men pushing trying to get it out and that was hard enough. We were able to find a mobile repairman to come check on it tomorrow. I hope he can fix us up!
Thanks for the advice |
That looks like the shaft material for most weed eaters. You may be able to get a replacement shaft for one and cut a piece of it off if you can't find a replacement.
Your idea of using a piece of keyway stock would work in a pinch. |
That looks exactly like the motor/gearbox on my little slides. I just had a gearbox go bad. Talked to BAL and they do not sell the gearbox separately from the entire assembly (almost $300). Don't know if they'd sell just the interconnect, but it would be worth a call.
Where are you stranded? |
Can you remove the motor and put the gear box back on and use a square drive on a drill
