Power not working

We just bought a Vengeance Rogue 295a18. When hooked up to power and city water everything works fine. We are dry camping for the first time and our leveling jacks and the bunk bed work, but nothing else unless the generator is running. The battery has a full charge and the battery disconnect is turned to the ON position. Any input or suggestions on a quick fix? We donít want to run the generator 16 hours a day.

Welcome to the forum.

You should probably start a new thread asking your question because this thread is already confusing enough without adding a different problem. Iím just saying, you will probably get better answers that apply to your specific problem if you start a new thread.

You need to run the genny for 120 volt outlets, micro a/c to work. Lights, water heater and reefer and heater work off 12 volts. Unless you have a big battery bank with an inverter to power the outlets, you need to run the genny.

1. how do we know the battery has a full charge? have you taken a voltage reading?
2. many units have a small resettable 12 vdc circuit breaker near the batteries. if it trips it needs to be reset. i do not have a picture but it is a small device that will have two 12 volt battery cables attached to it. it has a small button that needs to be pressed to reset it.

Dry camping first time.....yeah. Only 12 volt items will work, and only for so long if you donít recharge them. There is AC voltage, and DC voltage. In an RV, if the item is plugged in (Air conditioner, microwave, electric heaters, plug in table lamps, ANY electrical outlet) will not work. Thatís AC voltage.

Factory lighting in an RV, ceiling fans, electric awning, furnace, levelling jacks, bunk bed? are all running off your battery or batteries....DC voltage. But if you keep using these things without being plugged in or with the generator, they will all stop.

Welcome to dry camping. :D

Ryan, Google "the 12 Volt Side of Life" and read through it to understand how the two different RV electrical systems work.

I understand all that. I guess I assumed the battery has power because the arms that come down to lift the fifth wheel still work just fine. We ran the generator all night last night and as soon as it’s off nothing works again. The gauge that tells me how full the tanks are won’t work without generator running too. When the generator is on and we hit the battery gauge it shows as full. We didn’t buy close to home so was hoping to fix the issue myself rather than take it back to dealer for warranty issues.

Having 4 lights ON on the “battery gauge” does not mean full charge. It merely means the converter/built in charger is charging the battery.

You don't have to go back to the original dealer. Contact FR for nearby dealers willing to do the warranty work. Or you can use an independent RV shop or mobile RV technician. You just have to get pre-approval from FR and be willing to be reimbursed.
We bought our new HTT from a Chicago dealer 2000 miles away. FR found us 3 local dealers willing to do the warranty work.

ok let's assume you have power in the batteries as evidenced by the legs working. they are directly wired to the battery. your converter seems to be working as evidenced by having four lights on the battery monitor when the generator is working. the converter is providing 12 volt power when the generator is running. yet no 12 volt power without the generator.
1. battery disconnect switch has the batteries disconnected (you say they are connected)
2. 12 volt resettable circuit breaker needs to be reset.
either of these will 'disconnnect' the batteries from the 12 volt power system. the legs will still work as they are directly cabled to the battery.
