I have a 1.5" sag with Timbrensin the rear and 1/2" in front. Acceptable to me. I'm happy. You will notice a better towing experience with a 5er over a TT as well. As least I did with a slight improvement in gas mileage despite the 5er being significantly heavier. Happy trails.

We tow our Rockwood 8281ss 5th wheel with a Toyota Tundra with the 5.7 v-8 and tow package. It is rated to tow 9,900. So far so good, truck squats a bit and we may upgrade back suspension, but not yet.

I see all this talk about the timbrens and I am very interested. Where did everyone purchase there sets from.

2 inch sag too much? I measured from top of rearwell to bottom of wheel before and after. Is that the correct procedure?

I've had bags on my suburban for 7 years and not ONE issue!
I live on gravel and in the Midwest where road salt must be free!
No holes no air line leaks nothing.
Don't be scared of bags.
In my case mine have been maintenance free for 7 years.

X2 f1100turbo, mine have been maintenance free for 17 yrs (same bags & compressor on 3 different trucks).
I guess pushing a button to increase or decrease the air is just too arduous for some folks.

I'm currently towing my 2012 Prime Time 290 RLT with a 2011 Ford F150 with Ecoboost. Not sure I would trying towing this 5th wheel with any other 1/2 ton truck, since the hitch weight is over 1,000 lbs. Ford claims you can now handle over 1800 lbs. in the bed, which gives you the safety of handling that hitch. The Ecoboost engine has been excellent in towing the trailer down the hwy. Gas mileage has been great averaging 12.5 while towing and 18.5 in the city when unhitched.

You like that word: arduous :roflblack: I'm glad that your air bags are free of problems. I expect most are, however, I was just pointing out the simplicity of the Timbren install and ongoing usage. As I said, I read on some post earlier that someone had pin hole problems with air bags. They tend to be more expensive, higher level of difficulty to install and potential for damage. Most people use air bags from my observation and I was throwing out an alternative that is just as effective. There was no intention on my part to question anyone's decision on what product they choose. As an FYI, I paid $195 for my Timbrens and I installed them in less that 1/2 hour. I am , by no means, mechanically inclined. In fact, I'm getting callouses on my fingers by typing so much.:)
