Water Pump on a 3010DS

We have 2013 3010DS which we would like to winterize for the season. I purchased a kit to pump anti-freeze into the water lines. It looks like the pump is next to the fresh water tank and it looks like it is somewhat difficult to get at. Does anyone know a easier way to install the kit ?

You have to take out the white compartment cover to access the left (suction side) of the pump. Poor design. You can't get to it from the access hole. It is a pain. I'm going to modify it next year.

Same issue on our 2300. I was able to install a winterizing kit by removing the supply line on the left side of the pump and shortening it to make room for the valve.

Thanks for the help. I thought that it might be somewhat of an easy fix but no such luck. On our RV the line from the fresh water tank is about 2 inches lower which makes installing the by-pass and screen filter very difficult. I'm somewhat surprised that FR did not catch this it does not seem like it's rocket science.

Me too

I also appreciate the pictures and solution to the valve. I have a 2012 2450 with what looks like exact same setup.

I installed mine similarly but rotated the valve handle 90 degrees and drilled a one inch hole in the white inner panel so I can reach in with my finger to position it. I connected the clear hose in place of the cap and routed it to the filter hatch area. You don't really need to use the cap if the valve is positioned correctly as it shouldn't leak. Come time to winterize remove the filter hatch, pull out the hose, put it into you RV antifreeze bottle, reposition the valve and you are good to go. Of course you want to remove your filter cartridge before pumping antifreeze thru it.

We're looking at adding a take up tube. I've passed some examples on to the engineers.

The brass valve in the kits is Very restrictive,if you like lots of water flow,I would not use this valve. Youroo!!;)

Mike,is there room on the left side of white panel (inlet side of pump) to cut another access hole, and use another Factory cover? The 3010DS has a nice cover where you access the W/H filter on the right side(pressure)of the pump. The hole in the white panel from the Factory was cut by a child on Ridlen? with a Rotozip router! The nice cover plate hides it. Youroo!!:)
