Concertone radios

Just bought a used sandpiper 5th wheel and the radio doesn't work. Previous owner said it did but we know how that goes. I bought from an elderly couple and now I can't even get the power light to come on. I believe it is a Concertone rv2003L model radio that is used for radio and surround sound.. Guess I am asking if I should replace with another concertone model or is there something else out there that would work better? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you..

Concertone is about the only RV entertainment manufacturer, that uses systems with this configuration sizing.

many replace it with a Jensen model but they don't make one to fit the hole sizing of your Concertone unit.
some put a different piece of veneer in and just install a Jensen unit.

here's a link to the Concertone product gallery, where you can download a manual for yours:

IF you have no light at all..... maybe you don't have power to the unit.
A little more info is in order. Did it work when you were looking to buy the
trailer? Do you have other interior lights that are working now?

Many radios have an inline fuse found hiding behind the unit. You can pry off
the face frame. Just the outside trim comes off, much like a picture frame
coming off the front. That will reveal screws that you can remove and then
you can pull out the unit. Find the inline fuse and make sure it is good
and make sure there is 12v power going to it. This takes a meter and some
knowledge how to use it.

There may also be a 2nd fuse in the fuse box for the trailer. Obviously, this
fuse has to be good also. It may be labeled or the radio may be on with
some other devices.

It's a treasure hunt.
Good Luck!

""is there something else out there that would work better?""

In my experience, just about anything would work better than a Concertone.

I checked the fuse in the breaker box. It is good. And yes it worked when looking at the trailer. I guess tonight I will look for an inline fuse behind the radio since I don't even have a red power light on the radio.. Most I read about says they get the red light on radio but the radio doesn't work.. Thanks for info guys and any other info will gladly be taken...
