Air ride pin boxes
I have not seen any discussions about converting pin boxes to air ride to reduce the bucking while pulling a fifth wheel. In specific I am looking at replacing the Reese Revolution pin box on my 28 ft Flagstaff with one that dampens out the bucking. Has anyone done this and was it effective?

I have a Trailair Pin box. I like it. It helps on concrete roads, bridge approach and other sever dips.

What kind of truck do you have, jmwisinski? The Reese Revolution is the cat's meow for short-bed trucks. It saves you from needing a slider.

If you have a short-bed truck, I think I'd consider shocks for the trailer or an actual air ride hitch.

If you have a long-bed truck and don't need the activated Revolution, then the Trail Air/Tri Glide hitch is what I'd go for. (In fact, I have my sights on one- just need to save some pennies.)

Lippert is supposed to be coming out with a newer version of the trailair. The Flex air. Flex Air Pin Box - Towing

Problem is, I just keep waiting for it to happen.

Just a trailair does not help with chucking, in my experience.

I saw that flex air. Kind of ticks me off as it pretty much one ups the tri-glide. Wish I'd have waited. I hate the tri-glide, at least the glide portion of it. It doesn't "glide", just clunks one way or the other. The flex air looks like it sort of combines the air bag with similar to a MorRyde. I still think the MorRyde is superior as far as chucking. Wish I could put a MorRyde plate on a Trail-Air Box. The air bag is effective, but just for the up / down movement of the pin box.
