What kind of generator do you use?
Buy a expensive Honda or go with a
Champion 3500-Watt Remote Start Generator from Cabelas at 1/3 the cost?

Depends where you camp? If you're a boondocker and away from others, then the cheaper can work. If you are camping in a park near others, noise is a big problem and I'd recommend spending the money on a good, quiet, inverter style generator.

Yamaha 3000 iesb inverter with remote start

Mostly at state forest. No generator rules. And would only be on at night for a little tv watching before bed. And in the morning to recharge battery. Last fall used a buddies Honda like that. My furnace ran all night on the battery no problem.

Cant beat the Champion 3100I generator for the money I like the Honda only because it's a couple of DB's quieter. My Champion runs the AC just fine and will run all night on a tank of gas.

My XLR came pre-wired for an Onan with the controls inside. So I wedged the 4000w unit in. It's a beast and will run the whole camper as long as I want because it's hooked up to the 32 gallon gas tank under the garage belly. :-)

I plan to go with a pair of Hondas. Silence is golden. Been to campgrounds with inconsiderate neighbors with the noisy cheapies and it makes you want to go put sugar in it. If you ever want to move it, I'd look at either a single or pair of the Honda EU2000is's. A buddy has a EU3000is, and while it is a really nice generator, I can't get it out of the truck and on the ground myself, it's just too heavy. For the same money you can have a pair of EU2000is's, parallel kit, and ~1000 more watts in a package one person can manage(~50 lbs each)

I use a Boliy 3600Si runs everything including my 15000btu AC. Almost the same price as one 2000Honda and almost as quiet plus electric start and weight is 75 #. :D Later RJD :trink39:

I used to run a champion 3500w. It was loud, but it ran a 13.5k AC in our old trailer OK, but of the fridge compressor kicked on (small apt unit) it would struggle. Now in our 26RR with a 15k AC, I run a Honda EM5000SX (4500w continuous). Ran the AC, microwave, and fridge on electric all weekend with temps around 100. It's a bit quieter than the champ and fuel consumption was about the same.

It bought this model Champion, for atv park in KY that is primitive. I go during winter weather. Remote is king in the am when you want to use the coffee pot. The batteries are charged for the next night as well. Mine has the 30amp plug for the TT. It will run the ac during the summer.

This is not a neighbor nice unit. Like running a lawn mower.

In my case, perfect.

Keep looking at Sears for this unit. They change prices on it daily with the Internet matching game they play. Beat cabellas price big time. You have to check everyday. Beat them by $105.
