tighten up the slide out topper awning
 
i have a 2011 FR sierria 345ret ..............the awnings on the 2 big slides fill up and hold water! can i tighten up the awnings? can it be done??

i have search for an answer so if this is a common thing i am sorry! been the owner of this 5th wheel for 10months!! i love it

Can you try fitting something like a soccer ball under them? Anything along that line will of course have to be removed before closing the slide, but, it would support the center.

I am facing this and have never had them before. Your complaint is common one though.

I may try that. Some suggested a PVC frame.

You can tighten up the fabric, but you'll always have water pool on a slide topper ... it's just the way that plays out. Soccer balls, big bungee cords, PVC framing are other alternatives. If you do go at the fabric ... read up on the procedure as the spring is stout and there is a reccomended number of turns in relation to awning size found in that reading.
