Cleaning debris off slide top

23IKSS, no topper on kitchen slide (not an option, I think?). With awning retracted, get decent amount of tree debris up there. Besides ladder and broom, any other ways to clean it off before retracting?

Getting pelted by acorns as I type.

I have been using 30 feet of 3/8 nylon rope with a towel tied to one end.

Throw the rope over and then pull the free end, three or four times works well for me.

I made a broom that makes an upside-down J to sweep my slide off before retracting. I can't see if it's clean, but several swipes and nothing else falling is an indication that it's all off. I get on top and clean them really good once in a while.

Some people tie a rope to each end of a towel and with one person at each end work the towel back and forth along the slide. Others use a leaf blower. I'm sure others will post other methods.

I go up on top and sweep. Gives me a chance to check the roof, too.

I bought a Stihl electric leaf blower with a gutter cleaning kit. It works great for me. I bought them both at my local ACE Hardware.

However u decide to clean it is very important to get debris off your slide. Pine cones hickoy nuts acorns can ruin your gaskets.

I climb up on mine to sweep it off occasionally too, but recently a good friend was doing the same thing when he fell off suffering severe brain damage. So please be careful when doing this.
