The trick is to just raise the landing gear to clear ground contact THEN lift the base plate BEFORE raising the landing gear all the way up MUCH EASIER

Forest river has a recommended fix "betterway cap Repair" it calls for sanding,buffing,then clear coating,they will pay 11 hours labor for this. My recommendation is to paint and clear coat.

Had the same problem I my Cedar Creek tried everything you did and more, the problem was loose white wire in the breaker panel tightened it up and it solved the problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
